Permissions are used to enable or disable a user's access to
screens and operations within TekTrack. Permissions can be assigned at the user
or group level. The permissions listed below define their general function however
additional roles provided by these permissions may be defined throughout the
Guide.
- Scan. User can access the Process screen.
- Search. User can access the Search screen.
- Run Reports. User can access the Reports screen
to run reports only.
- Schedule Pickup. Currently this permission is not functional and exists for backup compatibility.
- Manage Reports. User can access the Reports screen.
- View Pickups. Currently this permission is not functional and exists for backup compatibility.
- User & Groups. User can access the Users and Groups screen.
- Locations. User can access the Locations screen.
- Statuses. User can access the Statuses screen.
- Carriers. User can access the Carriers screen.
- Attributes. User can access the Attributes screen.
- Alerts. User can access the Alerts screen.
- Notifications. User can access the Notifications screen.
- Events. User can access the Events screen.
- Tickets. Currently this permission is not functional and exists for backup compatibility.
- Location Categories. User can access the Location Categories screen.
- Archive Management. User can perform data archiving operations. This permission is required to be able to delete any package history from the system.
- System Configuration. User can access the Configuration screen.
Users can be assigned permissions directly or they can inherit them from their group
memberships. Permissions are accumulative; the user's permissions is a
collection of the permissions they were assigned directly and have inherited from
their memberships. Permissions can only be used to grant access and not to deny
it. In order to prevent a user from performing operations, they must not have
been directly assigned a permission or be a member of any groups that have.
